What happens now determines what happens to the rest of the world.
Black Panther is easily one of the most anticipated movies of 2018. Starring an all star cast including Chadwick Boseman, Angela Basset, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Michael B Jordan and the list goes on.
Black Panther is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, with the passing of King T’Chaka, T’Challa takes up the mantle of the Black Panther as well as the role of The King of Wakanda.
This movie came with an incredible amount of anticipation, with an all black cast behind and in front of the camera not to mention the first major superhero movie led by a black actor, this movie is ground breaking.
Chadwick Boseman is great as both the Black Panther and T’Challa, however the movie is filled with more interesting personalities. From Lupita Nyong’o who plays a Wakandan spy to Letitia Wright who plays T’Challa’s sister and more importantly Danai Gurira who leads the Dora Milaje. These characters bring so much depth to them and makes you invested into their own story arcs.
One of the most fascinating aspect of the film is Michael B. Jordan. As his story arc brings about a damaged character that you can sympathize with. You understand why he’s angry though his actions are extreme, you can feel his frustration. His role as Killmonger is easily one of the best villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This film does have flaws, at times it’s predictable and the CG isn’t all that polished there are several scenes where the CG looks unfinished and it can take you out of the film.
Overall Black Panther is an incredibly enjoyable film, it’s definitely one of the better Marvel movies. The characters, the story and especially the culture it’s representing makes this movie unique and special. Even with Avengers: Infinity War looming around the corner Black Panther manages to be it’s own movie and if anything makes you more excited for the next movies.
